SECOND ANNUAL BAKE OFF

On November 9th, the Ladies of Charity hosted their second annual Bake Off at the Daughters of Charity. Eight of our members and several other participants competed in this event.  The discerning Daughters tested each entry and awarded prizes with Lois Keefrider and Marie Copeland (our returning champ) tying for first place and third place going to Jonathan Brendese.

Lois presented a coconut cake with a custard filling and cream cheese icing, while Marie's entry was a sour cream coffee cake with a glaze. Jonathan baked a chocolate chip pumpkin bread.

On a Saturday afternoon, nothing rivals the delectable taste of homemade cakes and breads. Thank you to all the participants - the baking competition was enjoyable for everyone.
