This year’s Lenten retreat at the DePaul House was an opportunity to delve deep into one of the most beloved and profound teachings of Jesus.  The theme, “The Beatitudes: Our Stepping Stones to Christ,” was designed to help us understand how these blessings are not merely aspirational but tangible ways of living that bring us closer to our Lord.

The day was filled with reflective exercises and heartfelt discussions that explored the deeper meaning of these timeless teachings, focusing on how they apply to the challenges and joys we face in our personal and spiritual lives.  A special thanks to Sr. Joanne Donovan, Sr. Maura Hobart, Sr. Mary Frate and Ann Rose, whose insightful reflections on these profound blessings inspired us all.

Mass was offered in the DePaul House Chapel followed by a delicious lunch of stuffed sole, baked potato, mixed vegetables, tossed salad and dessert.  The Ladies enjoyed each other’s company sharing laughter and conversation, strengthening bonds and creating memories.

The retreat served as a reminder that Lent is not just about giving something up—it is about gaining a deeper understanding of God’s love and living out His blessings with humility, compassion, and grace.
